Adding videos to your ePortfolio

How to Upload Videos to Your ePortfolio

You can share videos on your ePortfolio in two ways, depending on the file size.

Option 1: Upload Directly to WordPress (Under 50MB)

If your video is 50MB or smaller, you can upload it straight into your page.

Steps:

  1. Click the “+” icon to add a new block.
  2. Choose Video (or File) from the block options.
  3. Select your video from your iPad or computer.
  4. Wait for it to finish uploading — that’s it!

This is great for short videos — like quick reflections or short projects.

Option 2: Upload to YouTube (Over 50MB)

If your video is larger than 50MB, you’ll need to upload it to your own YouTube account first, then embed it into your ePortfolio.

Steps:

  1. Open the YouTube app or go to YouTube.com.
  2. Sign in with your personal account.
  3. Tap Upload video and select your file.
  4. When it’s finished, tap Share → Copy Link.
  5. Go back to your ePortfolio page.
  6. Click “+” → YouTube or Embed block.
  7. Paste the video link — it will appear right on your page!

Make sure your YouTube video is set to “Unlisted” if you only want people with the link to see it.

How Big Is Your Video?

Here’s a quick guide for typical iPhone/iPad videos recorded in HD (1080p):

Video LengthApprox. File Size
1 minute~10 MB
2 minutes~20 MB
3 minutes~30 MB
4 minutes~40 MB
5 minutes~50 MB
10 minutes~100 MB

If your video is longer than 5 minutes, it’s probably too big for direct upload — use YouTube instead.

Tips for Smaller Files

  • Trim your video to only the important parts.
  • Lower the video quality before recording (e.g. 720p instead of 1080p).
  • Avoid long clips — shorter is better!

Now you’re ready to add your videos!
Short clips? Upload directly.
Longer videos? Use YouTube and embed.
